(Riverbank,
CA) – 25th Assembly District GOP Frontrunner Janice Keating announced
today that she has received the endorsement of Riverbank Councilmember
Danny Fielder, adding yet another local GOP leader to her growing
list of supporters.
“Right
now, voters are appalled at what is going on in Sacramento,” said
Councilmember Fielder. “We need a fighter like Janice Keating in the
Assembly, working to balance the budget and oppose attempts to raise
taxes. Janice has experience auditing governments and balancing budgets
– two areas that Sacramento deeply needs. Janice is absolutely equipped
for this job, and that’s why I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my
endorsement.”
Councilmember
Fielder joins Lew Uhler, President of the National Tax Limitation
Committee, along with Modesto Mayor Jim Ridenour and a host of local
elected leaders supporting Janice Keating for Assembly.
Janice
Keating was first elected to the Modesto City Council in 2001, where
she utilized her strong fundraising and broad-based grassroots effort
to unseat an incumbent. She has chaired the city’s Finance and Economic
Development Committees and served as the Vice-Chair of the Audit Committee.
Janice has also served as a member of the Stanislaus Council of Governments,
the Modesto Irrigation District Domestic Water Policy Board, and the
Stanislaus County Family Justice Center Steering Committee, among
others.
In 2004,
Janice was honored in the state capitol as Woman of the Year from
the 25th Assembly District, named by then Assemblyman Dave Cogdill.
