(Patterson,
CA) –Support continues to consolidate behind Janice Keating as she
pursues the GOP nomination in the 25th Assembly District, as evidenced
by yet another endorsement—that of Patterson Councilwoman Annette
Smith.
“Janice
Keating is going to Sacramento to fight for real fiscal accountability,”
said Patterson Councilwoman Annette Smith. “The state’s runaway spending
has to stop, and I am convinced that Janice Keating will fight for
real fiscal discipline. After all, Janice has a track record of balancing
government budgets and auditing government waste during her time on
the Modesto City Council. That’s experience I trust, and I am proud
to support her.”
Patterson
Councilwoman Annette Smith was first elected in 2008 on a platform
of government reform and fiscal accountability. She joins Lew Uhler,
President of the National Tax Limitation Committee, along with Modesto
Mayor Jim Ridenour and a host of local elected leaders supporting
Janice Keating for Assembly.
Janice
Keating was first elected to the Modesto City Council in 2001, where
she utilized her strong fundraising and broad-based grassroots effort
that unseated an incumbent. She has chaired the city’s Finance and
Economic Development Committees and served as the Vice-Chair of the
Audit Committee. Janice has also served as a member of the Stanislaus
Council of Governments, the Modesto Irrigation District Domestic Water
Policy Board, and the Stanislaus County Family Justice Center Steering
Committee, among others.
In 2004,
Janice was honored in the state capitol as Woman of the Year from
the 25th Assembly District, named by then Assemblyman Dave Cogdill.
