(Modesto,
CA) -Former Modesto City Councilwoman Janice Keating, frontrunner
in the Republican primary race for Assembly District 25, added to
her impressive list of endorsements with support from recently elected
Modesto Councilman Dave Geer.
This
recent endorsement adds to a list that already includes Madera Sheriff
John Anderson, conservative talk-radio host Dave! Diamond and dozens
of local small-business leaders.
Serving as media strategist for Janice's campaign is GOP veteran consultant
Wayne Johnson, who directed Denham's first successful run for office
and also ran Denham's successful defeat of an attempted recall last
year. Leading the Keating for Assembly finance team will be Wendy
Warfield, who has been a key fundraiser for Governor Schwarzenegger
and 2008 presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Dr. Val Smith has signed
aboard to handle polling and research.
Janice Keating was first elected to the Modesto City Council in 2002,
re-elected in 2005, chaired the Economic Development Committee and
was Vice-Chair of the Audit Committee. In 2004, she was selected by
then Assemblyman Dave Cogdill as "Woman of the Year" for the 25th
Assembly District. Janice Keating is a member of the Modesto Chamber
of Commerce, Stanislaus County Farm Bureau and served as a Member
on the Modesto Irrigation District Domestic Water Policy Board. She
attended Central Catholic High School in Modesto and the University
of California, Santa Cruz. Janice has been married to Tim Keating
for 21 years and has two teenage children.
